Life is a long road, a road filled with ups and downs, twists and turns. Just ask author Donna Rhodes. She can tell you all about roads. During her lifetime, Donna has walked down lonely roads, narrow roads, and slippery roads. Then God took her on a long road which has led to scenic roads and new roads. Reading her moving story, I realize that there were many times Donna must have felt she was on a dead-end road. This was not the case at all. Even when Donna could not see it, God was walking along the road with her, leading her down His road, the one He had prepared just for her.
Donna’s first road took her through a very painful, lonely childhood where she felt unloved and unwanted. She continued her journey through broken relationships, difficult marriages, and single parenthood. The road signs were not always clear and she stumbled often along the way. She kept walking.
Like Donna, each of us is on a road. We can choose how we walk down our road. There were times when as a single mom, Donna walked down the road filled with shame for the choices she had made, but she walked with purpose and perseverance. That path has taught Donna how to walk with power in the presence of God.
If you are discouraged with life, uncertain of your future, or just plain tired of being a victim, I encourage you to read How the Woman at the Well Became the Well Woman.
Donna’s story is a story of victory. She inspires you with her words and reminds us all that hope and wholeness can be found in a relationship with the Lord.
How the Woman at the Well Became the Well Woman is a poignant life story of a woman’s desperate journey to find love. Inspired by the biblical account of the woman at the well, this memoir is a remarkable testament to God’s faithfulness and the power of His redemption. For those who think their lives will never change and those who are afraid to hope again, Donna’s testimony is transformative.
These words from Donna herself say it all, “My heart’s desire is to give you hope, even if you have to borrow some from my story until you find your own. Regardless of the roads you have traveled, or are now traveling, your life is of great value to God. He sent His only son to redeem it, and He will show you the road home.”
