Keynote Speaker:
Bruce Wilkinson

"Even though this is a continuation of the Glorieta Christian Writers Conference we see 'Writing at the Ranch' to be a new and unique writers conference. Writers will be inspired by the beautiful location while building solid, lasting relationships with other writers and editors," says conference director, Linda Gilden. "We hope writers will leave not only with their writing skills raised to a new level but also with a deeper walk with God because He has met them at the ranch. We want to encourage writers to write from the overflow of what God has put in their hearts."

Book Proposal Blitz led by Tama Westman

At Book Proposal Blitz, you will take your current or in-progress book proposal, utilize excellent resources and add the wisdom and skills of our CLASS team and mentors to help you "beef up" your proposal so it will quickly gain the attention of editors. In today's competitive market, a well-crafted book proposal is the best chance your book has for seeing the light of day.

This is a hands-on, interactive workshop where you will learn the specific elements editors look for in a proposal by working with experienced mentors from the fields of writing, editing, and marketing to revise and recreate your book proposal into the best it can be.

Bonus: A special "pitch session" allows you to practice, polish, and perfect pitches, and to discuss how you can make the most of your interactions and meetings with editors and publishers.

    Editor and Agent Appointments:

Conferees have the opportunity to meet with editors and agents at one-on-one appointments. These appointments give writers the opportunity to pitch their manuscripts and ideas directly to the editors, eliminating the query process. Agents are often the best people to give writers direction for their work. Please return your editor/agent preferences with your registration materials. This is a very valuable part of the conference. Editors come looking for their next big author! Agents are looking for undiscovered talent. It could be you!

    Professional Writers:

Professional writers are available to help attendees and guide them on their writing journeys. The advice of these professionals who have “been there” is invaluable to writers just starting.Often the professional writers have more time available to coach and encourage those starting out. Professional writers are also available for appointments.

What people are saying about our annual writer's conference...

"CLASS writers conference was a fabulous experience for me. I have learned more than I thought possible in five days. I really appreciated the worshop and prayer time. In many Christian conferences it is easy to have the leaders focus on material instead of the Master. It is obvious that Jesus is at the head of CLASS."
    --Susan Norris

"This was the best conference I've EVER attended (and I've attended a lot!). It was practical, informative, and spiritual. Worth every penny!
    --Angie Hillman

"An excellent conference! Speakers and worship were outstanding - just an unbelievable conference!"
    --Jan Edith Taylor

    "Far exceeded my expectations!"
    --Michelle Bengston
